Updated Mental Health First Aid Half Day course now available

Mental Health First Aid England have recently updated their half-day course and we are delighted to be able to offer this course within our range of mental health awareness training options.

Their Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) LITE training course has been replaced with Workplace MHFA Half Day.

The 4 hour course is suitable for anyone in the workplace from your newest employee to your most senior leader and offers attendees a basic mental health awareness session.

As anyone who’s attended workplace training on any topic knows, much of what you take away is down to the delivery.  All our trainers are knowledgeable and passionate about their specialisms and our mental health awareness trainers are great examples of this with ‘inspirational‘, or variations thereof, regularly appearing on course feedback forms –

“Fantastic trainer who is truly inspiring.  She is so proud of what she does and is very knowledgeable.”

You can view full course benefits and content on the course page but, in a nutshell, the half day session has been designed to:

  • provide those attending with an understanding of what mental health is and how stigma can be challenged
  • give participants an introduction to looking after their own mental health and maintain their wellbeing
  • impart a basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
  • raise confidence to support someone in mental and emotional distress

Globally over 2 million people have trained in Mental Health First Aid but with 3 out of 4 employees with a mental health issue choosing not to involve anyone at work, there is still much work to be done.  Some organisations will encourage all their employees to attend this basic half-day session, with a selection of participants then going on to attend the full 2-day Mental Health First Aider course.
