John Sephton

John is an experienced leader with specialist skills in business coaching, behavioural change, achievement and conflict resolution.  He served as an Officer in the Royal Navy for 23 years, a career which culminated in him reaching the senior rank of Commander.  Since leaving the Royal Navy in 2009, he has worked with senior leaders, teams, groups and individuals to help them achieve clarity of purpose and/or to resolve conflict in any ostensibly problematic challenges they meet, either within or out with the workplace.

A learning and development specialist, John is a Client Adviser/Assessor on the Chartered Management Institute’s flagship Chartered Manager programme and delivers professional leadership and management qualifications at Levels 5 and 7.  He is a hugely experienced trainer, his specialist training area being bullying and harassment and is an authority on workplace and employment mediation.

John is a member and trustee of the Training Faculty at the Society of Mediators and is their lead for professional development.  He has mediated across sectors, enabling participants to achieve positive outcomes in approximately 90% of cases and has co-authored a published practical mediation guide.  He also provides expert witness reports to the Court in matters of employment.

As a business coach John enjoys working with an eclectic mix of clients, coming from a range of businesses from SMEs to international organisations, and assists them in a non-directive way to resolve a mix of issues and thus achieve higher levels of both professional performance and personal contentment.
