Dawn Hardman

For over thirty years Dawn has worked with some of the most vulnerable individuals in a variety of services. Working in residential, day care and field social work and in a variety of roles from counseling to senior management. Her commitment to engaging those with social issues has been commended throughout her career, as has her ability to enable social change.

Dawn’s role as a trainer began with in house bespoke training  As a senior practitioner and manager she was requested by other agencies to provide unique training packages which led to the NHS approaching her to become one of the first MHFA trainers in Northern England. Soon she expanded this role to include the Living works programmes of suicide intervention training and has for the last eight years focused on delivering mental health awareness across all areas of the community.

From her beginnings of writing and delivering training packages primarily within the social support sector, Dawn now supports organisations in their development of policy and procedures as well as their training packages.  Renowned for her ability to reach all participants from all backgrounds, she has provided training addressing issues of social stigma in groups hitherto thought unreachable.

As a Master Trainer with Living works and a MHFA England Schools National Trainer, she has received accolades at the House of Lords for her excellence of delivery and is a member of NICE strategy on Self Harm.  Dawn also sits on the Suicide Prevention Strategy panel in Lancashire.
