BACKGROUND INFORMATION

In Equilibrium was founded in 1998 by Dr. David Mason-Brown, Jan Lawrence and Alastair Taylor.

A General Practitioner for more than 20 years, Dr. Mason-Brown specialises in both traditional and state-of-the-art techniques for combating stress and enhancing well-being in the workplace.  For over 15 years his energising and enthusiastic workshops have entertained and motivated working people into action that has benefited both themselves and their organisations.

Alastair Taylor spent 20 years as a Financial Director in the Offshore Oil Industry before gaining a degree in Psychology and working as a Sports Psychologist particularly with young professional golfers.  

Jan Lawrence is a behavioural scientist who previously worked in the charity sector.  Her extensive One-to-one Practitioner experience and organisational skills have been invaluable to the growth of the company.
 
Based in Dunfermline, In Equilibrium offers in-house training courses and consultancy throughout the UK, designed to help organisations create an environment where staff are resilient and well-being is enhanced, therefore helping staff respond positively to challenges and perform at their best.

The company works with some of the UK’s top organisations, including Biffa Waste Services, Syngenta and Brighton & Hove City Council.

In Equilibrium’s services are delivered by experienced trainers and consultants who specialise and excel in their chosen fields.  Subjects include stress management, resilience and well-being, bullying and conflict management and leadership and team building.  Emphasis is placed on providing customised training and consultancy designed to meet the organisations’ specific requirements.

In Equilibrium also offers specialist consultancy in stress risk assessment surveys and workplace health promotion.  It also produces a regular e-newsletter providing organisational support information and personal well-being advice.

With more than 1000 training courses run to date for over 250 organisations throughout the UK, In Equilibrium also run their own annual conference in London and Scotland on alternative years.
